I guess I just found it laughably hypocritical of President Obama, to try and dog-out anyone for not being completely open and transparent about their past, when his whole past seems so hidden from the American people, and anyone who questions his past is blown-off as someone trying to engage in conspiracy, a racsist, or else he or she is just a plain ole' kook.
Even though I agree Romney has skeletons in the closet concerning his past finances, but then again, so does our President concerning people he has been affiliated or associated with in his past, the only difference between his hidden past and Romney's is how a person is treated for bringing it up.
The President was once a big fan of smoking pot recreationaly back when he was younger, as was myself. And the fact that he openly admitted it, and stated during his campaign he wouldn't be pushing for more strengent laws against MJ, and would infact be backing off of the states where MJ inititives and reforms had been past. But has instead upped the anty, and doubled down efforts to prosecute MJ posession on a federal level in these states.
So yes, I too wish politicians would finally quit playing political games, with the American peoples rights, and allow the grow, sale and posession of Medical Marijuana at the very least. But my hopes that Obama will be the guy to make it happen has all but faded for me now.
I am an Independent voter, and I personally wish the American people would stop playing the establishment's Democrat vs Republican games! We need to vet our political candidates a bit more carefully. We need to hold their feet to the fire on these types of issues and stop being scared to ask candidates where they stand on these issues of personal liberty.
But we must start locally first, change our local (city & towns)government's political platforms, then the State, and Federal Govt.
I personally don't have a problem asking candidates who are running for the office of Sheriff in our county where they stand on the issue of Marijuana legalization, because it does matter. Who do you think holds the door open for the federal agents while they go in and raid, then tote boxes full of files, and retail products out of those medical marijuana dispensories out in California? That's right, the Sheriff's Deputies, under orders from the Same Sheriffs who swore an oaths to uphold and defend the constitution of the state of California, against all enemies both foriegn and "DOMESTIC"!
A Sheriff who's first duty is supposed to be to the citizens of the county that elected him or her. The Sheriff is the highest elected official in the county. And according to the Supreme Court of the United States, he is the highest law authority inside his jurisdiction, having more authority than anyone, including all federal law enforcement agents, and the President of the United States. He is the last line of defense against "Domestic Authoritarianism" and the tyranny of the elitist used against the citizens of his county. He is also the highest ranking officer in his county's Militia, should one be needed and has the authority to duputize as many people as is needed for the purpose of posse. It is the Sheriff's job to legally stop anyone from trampeling on the rights of his citizens. But something has became very backwards in this country!
Therefore I find it pretty important to know a little something about the individuals we elect to public office. It's not about liking the way someone speaks, how they look, what race or religion they are, or whether they are a Democrat or Republican. These are our personal freedoms we're talking about here folks, and we have very few things left we don't have to ask permission inorder to do it.
